''The Great British Bake Off is back''

The cooking competition show is back, and with the return of judges Mary Berry and  Paul Hollywood taking on different baking challenges. Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc will also make a comeback as the shows hosts.

I remember I caught a cold a couple months back and I was in that position where there was nothing to watch on television, so I came to the point where I was watching an episode of the bakery show as my friends recommended it. In my opinion it's a great cookery show, and it made me wonder how on earth do they make them specific types of food.

Unfortunately I don't think I call my self a GBBO fan just yet as bakery doesn't really interest me as much. I do advise anyone who enjoys baking or feels a little under the weather to watch the new series as it may interest you more than me.

The Great British Bake Off has also recently won a BAFTA award in the Features category.

Series 4 of the show will be aired on BBC 2 on August 20, 2013.

'' First X Factor 'audition room' trailer is released ''

The X Factor is back on our screens at the end of this month and to give you fans an idea on what to expect, the first trailer has been released today.  The trailer shows a young girl singing in her garden then appearing in front of the judges in the audition room to achieve her dream.

I have a feeling that there is a lot to look forward to with this show and it's going back to basics with the audition room, arena auditions, bootcamp then the judges houses and live shows. The viewing figures haven't been great since Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue left the show but I'm sure with the whole new revamp of the show and Sharon Osbourne making a return the viewing figures will get back where it should be.

Singer Charlotte Church has recently criticised the show after she rejected an offer to appear as a judge, she tweeted that she would rather poke her eyes out than appear on a show that kills music.

The X Factor will back on ITV in a couple weeks time, make sure you don't miss it.

''X Factor Series 10 to be Louis Walsh last year on the show ''

Louis Walsh has confirmed that he won't be returning for the X Factor next year. The X Factor judge who's been there from the start ( 2004-2013) , he  has dealt with a lot of critism and controversies and also watched contestants become huge superstars.

I've followed the X Factor since it first came on our television screens and I do think Louis made the show what it is. It will be a bit weird not having the irish music manager having a bicker with the judges or getting called 'Lou,Lou' now and then. I'm sure he has made a living from appearing on the show as well as managing well known successful music artist and bands such as Westlife, Boyzone and Ronan Keating's solo career.

I do think it's time to have a rest with the judging role 'Lou,Lou' and put your slippers on, but I'm sure you will be missed by your X Factor fans.  It's not known whether The X Factor will be back next year but I've got a huge feeling there will be a massive revamp and a brand new judging panel if the show does decide to return.

The X Factor is back on our screens in a few weeks time so get prepared for some tears, tantrums, screaming, shouting and loads of singing. Make sure you don't miss it.

Goodbye Louis

''Skins era comes to an end''

The end has come for Skins as the last ever series was shown yesterday with Cook's story ending the journey of the teen drama.

After years of huge stories involving sex, drugs, drama, fights and murders it's now time for the writers, producers, actors and the shows creators to start fresh and work on new projects.

I've got to say it's really weird how time flies past and how you grow up watching your favorite actors from Skins become a Hollywood actor or working on big projects. Nicholas Hoult working on X Men, Kaya Scodelario in Robbie Williams music video and Jack O'Connell working on Angelina Jolies new film project. This does show a lot of  benefits of working on a programme about teenage life and where it can take you afterwards.

I do think Skins did start getting a bit unrealistic or OTT ( over the top)  after series 1 and 2, just so much you put in an episode and it just escalates into something unrealistic. The simple stages of series 1 and 2 were teenagers just doing the stereotypical teenage stuff such as going out and having fun or having sex, drinking alcohol, falling in love and going to a house party. That's how teenagers are stereotyped these days I suppose and it won't ever change.

Now that Skins is over and American teen show 90210 is on the brink of coming to an end, I wonder what creative and ambitious person will come up with to start another television drama on the lives of teenagers.

R.I.P Skins

''Celebrity Big Brother logo unleashed''

The new CBB logo has been unleashed and it seems to still have a door and camera theme to it with a tint of shine compared to the current one.

The logo may have deliberately been kept the same so it gives fans an idea that the celebrities might be going into the house to face the 'secret & lies' theme later this month . In my opinion I really do hope this picks up because I haven't been a huge fan of the CBB series since channel 5 bought the show.

There have been rumours that TOWIE star Joey Essex, glamour model Sophie Anderton, Geordie Shore's Charlotte Crosby and Whitney Houstons daughter Bobbi Kristina will be entering the house. This could lead to some clashes and some stories which we may never heard before.

Loose Women host Carol McGiffen and former football manager Ron Atkinson were also rumored but their representatives denied the claims.

Celebrity Big Brother will be back on our screens on 22 August, 2013 with a  the unveiling of the 'big twist' on 23 August, 2013.

''Actor Peter Capaldi replaces Matt Smith as the new Doctor Who''

It's the moment all you Doctor Who fan's have been waiting for ( drum roles )

Peter Capaldi replaces Matt Smith as the 12th doctor, many celebrities such as Stephen Fry, John Hurt , Karen Gillan and John Barrowman congratulated him for his new iconic role.

I spoke to a lot of friends about this and many of them were speculating that Dame Helen Mirren, Idris Elba, Ben Whishaw may be the next doctor. I did think when I found out Peter was named the doctor it would have been someone younger but I think the BBC has now made a right decision. It will be very interesting to see what Peter has up his sleeves as the 12th doctor.

Peter will be on our TV screens as the new doctor in December 2013 for a Doctor Who Christmas special. Let the countdown to Christmas begin.

'' The X Factor has treated fans to an ultimate mash-up ahead of the upcoming tenth series''

The tenth series of The X Factor is back on our screens very soon and fans are treated with an ultimate mash-up which features hits from successful X Factor contestants such as Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Little Mix, Olly Murs, Cher Lloyd, One Direction, Union J, JLS, Misha B, Amelia Lily and Joe McElderry.

The video also includes Shayne Ward and recent X Factor winner James Arthur.
Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson and Diana Vickers were left out of the 60 second TV clip as well as the full version which caused some criticism as Matt Cardles management team didn't approve of him being left out. Woah, I've got to say the claws are out already and the show hasn't even started.

The show will welcome back Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow and also due to the shows 10th Anniversary former judge Sharon Osbourne will make a return since 2007.

I'm looking forward to see some of Mrs O's upcoming jabs, splats and probably some water fights with Louis. I got a feeling this could be a very interesting year for the X Factor.

There hasn't been an announcement of an air date but it's more likely to be on television at the end of this month. Bring on the screaming and shouting.. oh and the angelic voices.
